What happens to research when a machine can write, summarise, analyse, fake confidence, and even produce convincing nonsense in seconds?
In this lecture, we will look at the promises and dangers of generative AI in research. Everything from faster discovery to paper mills, fake references, weak thinking, and new forms of academic laziness.
Marko Lukic is a medical doctor from University of Belgrade, Serbia. He also holds a Master of Public Health and PhD in epidemiology from UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø, where he is Associate Professor at the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology. Marko has led UiT’s Artificial Intelligence team since November 2023 introducing more than 150 activities related to AI in higher education in Norway and internationally.
